Easter is Coming!

Everything about our community flows from the Easter feast: singing, dancing, praying, listening, eating. Our church's life is made possible by the power of Jesus' resurrection. We hope that you will come and share the joy of the resurrection with us, and all the services that prepare us to welcome that new life in our lives. Here's more information about our services.

• Palm Sunday, March 24 at 10:30 AM. There is one service only on Palm Sunday, where we walk through the neighborhood, carrying palms and singing our hearts out.  We join for a community breakfast beforehand at 8:30. The day before we gather to make the church ready for Holy Week, cleaning and hanging huge palms above the altar.
• Maundy Thursday, March 28 at 6:00 PM.  We gather to celebrate the Eucharist at dinner tables as a feast of friends and take turns washing each other's feet.
• Good Friday, March 29 at 7:00 PM - Our choir begins the Vespers of the Triumph of the Cross with a choral prelude. Then we hear the story of Jesus's dark night of suffering and death. Finally, we process to the altar, where the icon of Jesus's burial is placed and lovingly lay down our own gifts of flowers. Preparation of the church is from 9 am to noon.
• The Great Vigil of Easter, March 30 at 8 PM - The Queen of Feasts comes at last! Beginning with a vigil of readings and songs, we make our way outside and process around the church, calling down saints from every generation to come and rejoice with us in the Easter Feast. The Eucharist follows - with lots of singing and dancing. The feasting continues after the liturgy with food and drink for all. Bring your dancing shoes! Setup of the church begins at 9 am.
• Easter Day Baptism and Eucharist, March 31 at 10:30 AM - Our combined Easter Day Liturgy is our opportunity to welcome into Christ's Body those who seek baptism. After the liturgy, there is an Easter egg hunt and lunch for everyone; and then - a nap!
