Our whole life is rooted and grounded in prayer, and there are opportunities to pray with others on Sundays and through the week.
Everyone is welcome to join in contemplative prayer. We begin with an informal discussion, then hear and reflect on a poem or other meaningful words which will lead us into twenty minutes of silent meditation using Centering Prayer or another practice of Christian meditation. We conclude by saying the Lord’s Prayer and offering prayers for others and ourselves. Contemplative Prayer meets on Sundays from 9:15 - 10:00 AM in the Chapel, under the icon of the Wolf. In both the Sunday morning liturgies, you can call out your own prayers; at 8:30 we do this with rocks and water, balancing the hard and light things in life. At 10:30 we do this during the Lord's Prayer. You can request prayer at any time, and we will pray for you. If you'd like to be remembered in prayer during the liturgy, just let us know. |
